Your subscription and free trial — how they work, and how to cancel

The in-app 7-day free trial is free and never touches the app stores (no card). A paid App Store or Google Play subscription auto-renews — here's how to check or cancel it.

Updated July 17, 2026

There are two different ways to get ElkNut PRO, and they work very differently — which is where most of the confusion comes from:

  • The free 7-day trial happens inside the ElkNut app. It never touches the App Store or Google Play, and you never enter a credit card.
  • A paid subscription is bought through the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android). Those are managed by Apple or Google and renew automatically until you cancel.

Here’s what to know about each.

The free 7-day trial (in the app)

When you start the 7-day free trial inside ElkNut, it’s granted by the app itself — no store, no card, no charge. Because there’s no payment method on file, nothing can bill you: the trial simply ends on its own after 7 days and PRO turns back off.

  • You won’t be charged. No card is ever collected for the trial.
  • There’s nothing to cancel. The trial isn’t a store subscription, so it won’t appear in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions, and it can’t turn into a paid plan on its own.
  • Want to keep PRO after the trial ends? Subscribe anytime from Account → Subscription in the app.

If you subscribe to PRO through the App Store or Google Play, that is a real store subscription — and store subscriptions renew automatically (monthly or yearly, depending on the plan) until you cancel them. You check the renewal date and price, or cancel, in your store settings — not inside ElkNut.

On iPhone or iPad (App Store)

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap your name at the very top.
  3. Tap Subscriptions.
  4. Tap ElkNut in the list.

You’ll see your plan, your next renewal date, and the price. To turn off auto-renew, tap Cancel Subscription — you’ll keep PRO until the end of the period you’ve already paid for.

You can also reach this from the App Store app: tap your account photo in the top-right, then Subscriptions.

On Android (Google Play)

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.
  2. Tap your profile icon in the top-right.
  3. Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  4. Tap ElkNut.

You’ll see your renewal date and price. To turn off auto-renew, tap Cancel subscription — your PRO access continues until the current billing period ends.

Subscribed on the web?

If you bought PRO through elknut.app (card checkout) instead of the app stores, it won’t show up in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions. Your PRO unlocks automatically whenever you sign in to ElkNut with that same email.

To update your payment method or cancel a web subscription, open the Stripe billing portal: enter the email you subscribed with, and Stripe sends you a secure link to manage everything yourself. (You can also open it from Account → Subscription → Manage or cancel in the app.) Still stuck? Support is happy to help.
